About the program

• The Utopus Insights Internship Programme is a 1-year learning journey that will take you through three job rotations, across Data Science, Data Engineering and Application Development.
• As an Assistant Engineer – Intern, during the program, you will gain a deep understanding of our company, our business, company values, and our tech stack.
• You will get a chance to work on live projects, as well as build a strong international network of professional and dedicated colleagues.

Program Timeline

• The internship program will be for a duration of 1 year, with 3 rotations across Data Science, Data Engineering, and Application Development every 4 months.
• The Assistant Engineer- Intern will be working closely with product teams on live projects with continuous mentoring from Utopus Insights subject matter expert (SME), at each rotation, candidates will undergo a 360-degree assessment by peers followed by technical presentations.

Eligibility:

• Developers who have graduated in 2022 or 2021 for Internships.

What you’ll do:

• As Assistant Engineer- Intern, you will be assigned to a product team assisting the cross-functional squads with product development, maintenance and conducting related technology proof of concepts (POCs).
• In addition, you will also assist with required feature updates to existing products, and update product documentation sites with operating procedures and testing results.
• The ideal candidate is a creative, ambitious self-starter who loves to take on a challenge, share ideas, and learn in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you’ll bring:

• An interest in renewable energy and a desire to make a positive difference in the world.
• Experience programming in Python/ Java/ Scala (with command on at least 1).
• Strong problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a group. Git or version control knowledge: branching, merging, resolving conflicts, etc.
• Fast learner with an ability to learn new programming languages and technologies.

Good to have:

• Prior software engineering experience from previous internships, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
• Knowledge of databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) concepts.

Internship Benefits:

• Stipend 30,000 INR per month + COVID Insurance for self and dependents.

Challenge Format:

• 10 MCQs.
• 2 Programming Questions (Language Restriction: Python, Java, Scala, Go, Rust).

• Shortlisted candidates will be working with the team onsite in the Bengaluru office. Relocation support will not be provided.
