Job Description:

• Responsible for development & support of software for Teradata DBS.
• Understand the design and participate in code, test, and documentation of major software components according to a standard development process.
• Projects will consist of multiple team members and the candidate will be expected to work closely with Technical Lead, & other team members as well as other supporting groups, like testing.

Eligibility Criteria

• Strong C programming skills.
• Knowledge in Relational Databases (RDBMS) and SQL desirable.
• Excellent problem solving and strong debugging skills.

Project Assignment:

• Development of Teradata Database features, unit testing of bug fixes, providing assistance in debugging and isolating the problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and support database software infrastructure for database internals.
• Aptitude for understanding database applications from the functional and technical perspective.
• Use existing source control, defect reporting, code design and document review processes and tools.

Scope:

• Individual Contributor.
• Works with Technical Lead / Technical Manager & reports to Engineering Manager.

Work Environment:

• Software Development, Software Testing and Maintenance.

Desired Skills:

• Strong programming skills with C in Linux and Windows O/S.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow documented specifications and plans with minimal supervision.
• Experience writing software that employs a relational database API.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• The following skills are desirable but not must: SQL.
