Job Description:

• Siemens Healthineers is hiring for Software Trainee Engineer – Pune.
• Job Type: Full Time.
• Employment Type: Permanent.
• Work Mode: Office/Site only.

Position Summary:

• We are seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern Trainee to join our engineering team developing a cloud-based oncology SaaS platform deployed on AWS.
• The platform is used by cancer patients, clinicians, and healthcare providers and operates in a regulated healthcare environment.
• This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle, including frontend development, backend development, cloud technologies, testing, DevOps, and Agile software delivery.
• The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to real product features while developing technical and professional skills.
• The product is Siemens Healthineers´s cloud-based software solution for patient relationships and care navigation management.
• It’s designed to connect cancer patients with their clinics online throughout the entire cancer journey.
• The product used by 35 000+ active cancer patients and healthcare professionals from leading oncology centers in North America and Europe.
• The candidate in this role will provide strong product development leadership to a team of software engineers and test engineers, working in an agile/scrum environment.

Position Duties:

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining software features and automation tests under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Learn and utilize approved AI-assisted software development tools to improve coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and development productivity.
• Contribute to frontend, backend, and API development activities.
• Participate in code reviews and learn software engineering best practices.
• Create and execute test cases for web, mobile, and API functionality.
• Gain exposure to AWS cloud technologies and SaaS application architecture.
• Support deployment and CI/CD activities using GitLab.
• Learn monitoring and observability practices using Splunk, Dynatrace, and Pendo.
• Participate in troubleshooting and operational support activities.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Qualifications Required: BE, MSc, MCA, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Number of year’s related experience: 0-1 year.

Required:

• Currently Pursuing or Recently Completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of programming concepts and software development principles.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Kotlin.
• Interest in cloud technologies, software engineering, and healthcare technology.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and modern software engineering practices.

Nice to have:

• Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar tools through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
