Eligibility Criteria:
- Knowledge with MSSQL 2008/2012 on windows.
- Knowledge with Oracle 11g on Unix/Linux platforms.
- Familiar with UNIX/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Familiar with Windows operating system and batch scripting.
- Understand Thomson Reuters product lines and supported technologies.
- Understand the impact of new products and technical impacts to supported systems.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently toward assigned goals.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, communication and verbal skills with a strong customer service focus.
- Ability to handle issues in high pressure situations.
- Good Analytical/Communication Skills and Aptitude for learning.

- Learn and stay current on the features and functionality of Oracle/MSSQL databases, focusing on technology to improve performance, availability, reliability, stability and work efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for metrics monitoring(Critical/Warning) Tablespace Full, DB alert log, Dataguard status, CRS Nodeapp status, Database services, File Systems etc.
- Responsible for monitoring target availability events Database. Instance, Oracle HAS, Cluster, Listener, Cluster Database etc.
- Responsible for monitoring database replication (log shipping, mirroring, DoubleTake, DataGuard, Golden Gate, Streams)
- Follow Incident Management process Logging, Triaging, Prioritization, tracking, routing incidents and closing incidents by providing resolutions or escalating as appropriate.
- Coordinate interaction with vendors, creating service requests and escalating as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Review and execute low risk changes including DDL, database configuration changes, patching, and well defined, well documented upgrades.
- Collaborates with peers, Systems DBAs and managers to determine strategy and how best to implement and support it
- Follow ITIL methodology for Change/Incident/Problem management.
- Provide L1 support for critical, complex production Oracle/MSSQL databases.
- Drive resolution of incidents.
- Deliver against agreed service level objectives(SLA/SLO).
- Work closely with internal technical teams during incident resolution and root cause analysis.
- Develop technical documentation for use in future incident resolution.
- Monitor Oracle alert log files, transaction log and backup logs
- Monitor Agent Unreachability events, DB start/stop activities etc.
- Demonstrate ability to work in teams as well as take initiatives in respective work areas.
- Respond to inquiries from business partners related to performance, application errors, storage capacity, etc.
- Provide problem management and resolution for repeat issues.
- Adhere to documented Change Management policies.
- Privilege Management – Create and maintain users, privileges and roles, enable/disable database auditing.
- Participate in new system builds; create databases, schemas and deploy standard jobs and monitoring.
- Participate in initiatives to define, measure, and report on database quality and stability.
- Communicate in a professional manner when interacting across staff levels and internal/external customers.
- Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation, present it clearly to interested parties.
- Responsible for working mandatory 24×7 rotational shifts.
