Job Description:

• The Red Hat Storage for Containers Test team is looking for an Associate Quality Engineer to join us in Bangalore, India.
• In this role, you will develop automated tests for the Red Hat Storage project.
• You’ll develop and maintain tests in our automated testing system using a combination of Python, Perl, Ruby, and shell scripts.
• You’ll also be responsible for automating test cases in our test automation framework, as well as augmenting the framework to evolve with the solutions under which it is used to test.
• You’ll need to be comfortable with daily team communication and collaboration while also being able to work on your own.
• As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will get the opportunity to make significant contributions and improvements to Red Hat’s quality engineering (QE) processes and infrastructure while also participating in upstream testing efforts in the open source community.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design high-level test approaches that suit customer deployments and come up with automation test framework recommendations and detailed test plans for the functionality.
• Automate and carry out test cases as part of new feature testing and enable automated regression runs for subsequent releases.
• Guide the automation testing effort and work with other engineers to get test cases automated
• Design, develop, and implement automation scripts using open source tools
• Define the quality of the deliverables and shape the quality delivery process.
• Actively participate in requirements and functional and design aspects of our solutions.
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
• Identify, record, thoroughly document, and track bugs.
• Stay up-to-date on new testing tools and test strategies.
• Provide an accurate and timely status of automated testing efforts and quality statistics to the engineering team.
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

Desired Skills:

• Expertise in programming languages like Python, Perl, Java, or C.
• Good knowledge of test automation using frameworks.
• Ability to identify and use tools for automated solutions best suited for testing needs.
• Experience with continuous integration (CI) and automation frameworks.
• Domain expertise with storage-related technologies including block-level storage and file systems.
• Experience with troubleshooting and debugging in Linux and UNIX environments.
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance (QA).
• Thorough knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Working experience with automated testing tools.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting.
• Understanding of virtualization and VMware technologies and containers like Docker.
• Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.
• Experience with leading automation efforts and writing and debugging automation tests for complex enterprise software.
