Job Description:
- This position involves commercialization of Location Technology software on Android/Linux Operating Systems across a wide range of hardware platforms.
- This role requires Userspace Hardware Abstraction Layer and Android Framework development, testing and maintenance for various components of the OS.
- Driver bring-up on embedded platforms for new QCT chipsets.
- Porting of new Location Technologies/GPS features to existing chipsets.
- Collaborating with fellow location software developers, application engineers and test teams while analyzing issues, fixing bugs, releasing patches, etc.
- Analyzing customer requirements and assisting customers with software integration, debugging, and OEM Documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 0-2 years Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 0-2 years experience with Programming Language C/C++.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates are expected to have strong practical experience in the following areas:
- C/C++ programming.
- Real time operating systems.
- Multi-threaded embedded systems.
- Strong embedded system software debugging experience
- Android Location framework knowledge is a plus.
- Software architecture and design
- Verbal and written communication – Critical thinking and problem solving – Ability to learn new skills and concepts.
- JTAG debugging, any prior software development or test experience with GPS are a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in C/C++.
- Strong fundamentals in embedded systems design.
- Understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Good analytical and problem solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge/hands-on in GPS Location technology is a plus.
- Hands-on Python is a plus.
