Job Description:

• CGI is hiring for Associate Software Engineer (Java AI Apprentice).

Role Summary:

• The Java AI Apprentice will work with senior engineers and architects to design, develop, and support AI powered applications and intelligent automation solutions.
• The role focuses on building scalable Java based applications, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), developing AI agents, and implementing modern cloud native and microservices architectures.
• This apprenticeship provides hands on exposure to Generative AI, enterprise application development, and emerging AI engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java based applications, microservices, and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Assist in integrating Generative AI services, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI powered capabilities into enterprise applications.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services to support AI applications, chatbots, virtual assistants, and intelligent workflows.
• Collaborate with senior developers to design and implement Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using vector databases and enterprise knowledge sources.
• Develop AI agent workflows and automation solutions using modern AI frameworks and orchestration tools.
• Implement prompt engineering techniques and optimize AI model interactions for accuracy, performance, and user experience.
• Support deployment and monitoring of AI applications on cloud platforms using containerized environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to application testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization activities.
• Create technical documentation, developer guides, and knowledge sharing materials for AI and Java based solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and continuous learning activities related to software engineering and AI technologies.
