Job Description:

• We are looking for a Mainframe Apprentice who has completed foundational training in mainframe technologies.
• The candidate will work under the guidance of experienced team members and gain hands-on experience in mainframe application development, testing, and support.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support mainframe application development and maintenance activities under the guidance of senior team members.
• Create, modify and execute basic JCL jobs and analyse job outputs.
• Perform basic COBOL coding, testing, and debugging under supervision.
• Write and execute basic DB2 SQL queries and support data-related activities.
• Analyse basic compile errors, JCL errors, and job monitoring and abends with guidance.
• Follow established coding, testing, documentation, and change-management processes.
• Learn and adapt to the organization’s mainframe applications, tools, and business processes.
• Work closely with senior developers’/support teams and progressively take ownership of assigned tasks

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Technical Skills

• COBOL,JCL,DB2, VSAM, CICS.
• Mainframe utilities, and z/OS concepts.
