Job Description:

• Alcon is hiring freshers for Software Engineer (Apprentice) – Bangalore.
• We are looking for motivated engineering graduates to join our Global MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) team as Graduate Apprentices/Campus Hires.
• This role provides foundational, hands‑on experience supporting an enterprise MES platform (e.g., Siemens Opcenter) used across global manufacturing sites, while developing technical, process, and customer‑facing skills.
• This position is ideal for fresh graduates who are eager to learn, grow, and build a careerin digital manufacturing, MES application/platform support, and global IT/OT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

MES Platform & Application Support

• Assist in supporting MES application/platform services (e.g., Siemens Opcenter) used for shopfloor execution, eDHR, and manufacturing traceability across global sites.
• Perform routine monitoring and housekeeping activities (service health checks, basic log review, job/queue monitoring) under supervision.
• Support basic configuration, environment readiness tasks, and release/deployment activities in collaboration with senior engineers and implementation partners.

Incident & Service Request Handling

• Assist in handling incidents and service requests related to MES (application access, environment issues, integration failures, performance), following ITSM practices and defined SLAs.
• Coordinate with site IT/business teams, infrastructure, and vendors to support triage, root cause analysis, and timely resolution (with guidance).

Documentation & Process Learning

• Help update knowledge articles, SOPs, and runbooks for MES support, deployments, and recurring issues.
• Learn MES operating model concepts (L1/L2 support, site vs. global responsibilities), change/release practices, and service maturity best practices.
• Adhere to security, access control, and GxP/CSV compliance requirements (documentation discipline, audit readiness) as applicable.
