Job Description:

• S&P Global is hiring for Apprentice (Quality Engineering).
• Department: Quality Engineering/Test Engineering.
• Duration: 12 Months (Apprenticeship Program).
• Work Location: Gurgaon/Hyderabad.

About the Role:

• As a Quality Engineering Apprentice, you will learn, contribute, and grow within our QE organization.
• You will support the team in testing software applications, building automation scripts, analysing defects, and ensuring overall product quality.
• This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience with real projects, tools, frameworks, and best practices used by modern engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Testing & Quality Activities

• Assist in executing manual test cases under guidance.
• Learn and contribute to writing functional, regression, and smoke test scenarios.
• Support defect logging and validation using issue-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Participate in test data setup and environment validation.

Automation & Tooling

• Learn basics of automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, API testing tools).
• Contribute to simple automation scripts under supervision.
• Understand CI/CD concepts and support automation pipeline runs.

Quality Analytics & Reporting

• Help gather test metrics, prepare test reports, and analyze test results.
• Assist with dashboards and documentation for releases.

Collaboration

• Work closely with senior QEs, developers, and product teams.
• Participate in stand-ups, grooming sessions, and quality discussions.
• Ask questions, learn best practices, and share learnings proactively.

What You Will Learn:

• Fundamentals of Quality Engineering and software development lifecycle.
• Manual testing techniques and test case design.
• Test automation basics across UI, API, and functional workflows.
• Version control (Git), CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure or similar), and debugging skills.
• Exposure to performance, security, and non-functional testing concepts.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or similar.
• Basic understanding of programming (Python/Java/JavaScript preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

• Exposure to HTML/CSS, APIs, or any testing tools.
• Basic knowledge of SDLC/STLC.
• Projects or coursework involving coding or testing.
